Business of the Month-Wesley Community Club
Posted on Monday July 01, 2019
The Commercial Club was organized in 1922, and later named the Community Club. The first 4th of July celebration was in 1961 it first started as just fireworks then a couple years later BBQ Chicken along with other events throughout the day were added
The Community Club is a nonprofit organization ran by volunteers. Anyone with a Wesley address is a member of the Community Club, you then are also added to our volunteers list to help at our events, and this is a great chance to meet new people who live in Wesley. We meet the 2nd Sunday of the month at 7:00 pm at the Wesley Community Center, everyone is welcome to attend.
Our organization goal is to make our community a great place to call home. Last year we gave to the new shelter house project and to the pool renovations. As we look ahead, we are looking to improve our town welcome signs and upgrading our parks.
We host several family friendly events throughout the year. An Easter Egg Hunt with more than 1,500 stuffed eggs, Park Clean Up Day, 4th of July Celebration, Costume Halloween Party for kids and families with games and prizes, and our Santa Day with Santa, meal, crafts, and Santa’s workshop.
Wesley will be celebrating 150 years July 1-4, 2022. We are in the very beginning stages of planning for this event. If you are interested in helping with the planning, please let us know it will take many people to prepare for this 4-day event.
We would also like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has helped with one of our past, present and future events. These events could not go on without your help. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
