Monthly Update

Hello from the library!

We’re teaming up with the Wesley Pool again this year for more “Dive In Movie” nights! Weather permitting each Thursday night in July, we’ll be watching movies at the pool under the stars! Admission is a donation of $3/person… (popcorn and bottled water are provided). We’ve got a new and improved sound system at the pool, and a new projector and screen this year, too. We’re kicking off on Thursday, July 1st, with “Moana”! Please note: we can’t begin until DARK, so it may be pretty late if you’re bringing littles to watch. (A late afternoon nap might be good for that day.) You’re welcome to bring a chair to sit on, or grab a white chair from the pool to relax and watch the movie. Just like at a theatre, movie watchers are expected to behave just like at the theatre, and if they can’t, they will be asked to leave. We don’t want the interruptions to ruin the experience for others. So far, we’ve got “Moana” leading the pack, “47 Meters Down”, “Finding Nemo”, and “The Shallows”. (Please note that a couple of those are rated PG-13 and may not be suitable for our littlest friends). I’ll keep you posted on the Library and Pool Facebook pages if we’re cancelling or making any changes due to weather.

We’re so excited!!

Also, Summer Reading officially kicks off on Tuesday, July 13th. Our theme this year is “Reading Colors Your World!”. Beginning at 10:00am, kids can sign up and get their reading logs, and Iowa State Bank’s Kool Kat will make an appearance with prizes for the kids! We’ll be doing “Chalk The Walk” to fancy up the sidewalks on Main Street, and then we’ll have a picnic afterwards for lunch! (If you can’t make it the 13th, you can still sign up any time you’re in the library.) We’ve got TONS of great prizes for participation this year!

For other library events, watch Facebook for announcements, or stop in! We’d love to see you!
