Equipment Operator
The City of Algona is seeking applicants for the position of Equipment Operator for the Street Department. This position is responsible for operating various types of heavy and light equipment, as well as other general labor while constructing, repairing and maintaining municipal roadways, alleys, right of ways and storm sewers. The successful candidate will have a valid Iowa Commercial Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 120 days of employment, and an Iowa Pesticide-Insecticide Applicator’s License within one year of employment. Preferred qualifications include 3 years of experience in heavy equipment operations; knowledge of street construction, repair and maintenance; and knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment operations.
